Your rifle is stamped Glenfield, JC Higgins, Western Auto, or Foremost — not Marlin — and you can’t find a magazine listed for it. Here’s the good news: it takes the exact same magazine as its Marlin twin, and we build that magazine in the USA. This guide shows you why, and exactly which one fits your model.
Why a “Glenfield” or “JC Higgins” rifle takes a Marlin magazine
For decades, Marlin manufactured .22 rifles that were sold under store brands. Same rifle, same tooling, same magazine — just a different name on the receiver:
- Glenfield — Marlin’s own budget line. The Glenfield 20, 25, and 80 are mechanically the Marlin 20, 25, and 80.
- JC Higgins — .22 rifles Marlin built for Sears.
- Western Auto “Revelation” — Marlin-built rifles sold through Western Auto stores, such as the Revelation Model 105.
- Foremost — Marlin-built rifles sold through Coast to Coast and other store chains.
Because the rifle is a rebadged Marlin, the correct magazine is the Marlin factory-pattern magazine for the equivalent model — and every American Rifle Magazines magazine is made in the USA to that original factory specification.

Not sure of your model? It’s stamped on the barrel or receiver. Rule of thumb: the older bolt-actions (20 / 25 / 80 / 780) use the 71903; the 70-series semi-autos and later bolt guns use the 71900 / 71901. The 71900 and 71903 are not interchangeable — confirm your model before ordering.
Which magazine should I buy?
- Glenfield 20/25/80, JC Higgins 42, Revelation 105, Foremost 20 (or a Marlin 20/25/80/780/781) → 71903 .22 LR magazine
- Marlin/Glenfield 70-series semi-auto (795, 70, Papoose), or 25N/880/925/995 → 71900 / 71901 .22 LR magazine
- Marlin 922M in .22 WMR → 922M .22 WMR magazine
