Are Marlin magazines interchangeable between rifles?
Yes, many Marlin magazines are interchangeable within the same family of rifles. Check the description on each magazine's product page for the exact model list — you'll see that most of our magazines fit several related Marlin models, not just one. Are Remington 783 magazines interchangeable?
No — Remington 783 magazines are designated by action length: short action, long action, and magnum long action, and these are not interchangeable with each other. What magazine fits a Marlin 795?
The Marlin 795 takes a 7- or 10-round .22 LR magazine — both are legitimate factory options, not aftermarket substitutes. Confirm the model number on the left side of the barrel before ordering, then choose your capacity and finish from our Marlin magazines.
Where do I find the model number on my rifle?
On Marlin rifles, the model number is stamped on the left side of the barrel, usually just ahead of the receiver. Write it down before you shop — every magazine we sell is listed by the exact models it fits. If you can't read the stamp or aren't sure, contact us and we'll help you confirm it.
Can I use a .22 LR magazine in a .22 WMR or .17 HMR rifle?
No. .22 WMR/.17 HMR magnum magazines do not fit .22 LR rifles, and .22 LR magazines do not fit .22 WMR/.17 HMR rifles. These are different magazine bodies built for different cartridge dimensions. Match your rifle's caliber first, then its exact model, using the Marlin fitment guide.
Are .22 WMR and .17 HMR magazines interchangeable with each other?
Yes. The two cartridges share the same case dimensions, so one magazine body works for both — that's why our magnum magazines are sold and marked "22WMR/17HMR." They still will not fit a .22 LR rifle.
What's the difference between black oxide and nickel finish?
Finish is a cosmetic and corrosion-resistance choice, not a feeding difference. Black oxide is the traditional matte-black finish. Nickel is brighter and adds extra corrosion resistance, which is useful in damp or hard-use conditions. Choose whichever matches your rifle or your preference.
How do I know if my Remington 783 is short action, long action, or magnum?
Check the caliber stamped on your barrel. Short-action calibers (like .308 Win and .223 Rem) use the shortest magazine, long-action calibers (like .30-06 Sprg, .270 Win, and .25-06 Rem) use a 4-round magazine, and magnum long-action calibers (like 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Win Mag) use the longest magazine, which holds 3 rounds. What caliber is a .450 Bushmaster?
The .450 Bushmaster is a .45-caliber bullet built on a .284 Winchester parent case, giving it a case length of 1.700 inches and an overall length of just over two inches. American Rifle Magazines makes a 3-round, black-oxide .450 Bushmaster magazine for the Remington 783.
What is a short-action rifle?
A short-action rifle has a shorter receiver and a shorter bolt throw, sized for shorter cartridges. That makes the action lighter and quicker to cycle, which is part of why short-action rifles are popular for hunting and target shooting.
What is a long-action rifle?
A long-action rifle has a longer receiver and a longer bolt throw than a short action, built to accommodate longer cartridges. The bolt has to travel farther to chamber and eject a longer round, which is where the name comes from.
Is American Rifle Magazines made 100% in the USA?
Yes. All of our magazines are made in the USA, with U.S. steel and U.S. components.
What is a clip vs. a magazine?
A magazine feeds the gun. A clip feeds the magazine. The two terms get used interchangeably in casual conversation, but they're not the same part.
Do you sell magazines wholesale?

All orders ship the same business day if received by 10AM EST. Orders received after 10AM EST, or on a weekend or holiday, will ship the next business day.
Are there state laws that limit magazine capacity?
Yes. Magazine capacity laws vary by state, and we don't ship high-capacity magazines to states where they're restricted. We can't offer legal advice — check your state's current rules on our magazine capacity laws by state page before you order.
