Model 70 Glenfield magazine 71900 (No Slot)

Hi Curt:

I' m sorry you received two of our magazines with a rough finish. I want to send you one of our 71900
(with slot) as they will work with all years of Marlin manufactured rifles and see if there is a difference.
We have been making Marlin magazines since the mid 1980's and we don't bubble pack them due to
trying to keep our costs down and your costs down. The tooling we have is original and we built it so there
should be no issues with the feeding or loading. You may have gotten some older stock, and a little Rem
Oil sprayed inside the magazine will most likely take care of the feeding of rounds. If it doesn't please advise and we will replace at no cost to you. Keep an eye out for another magazine and I hope you will find it works better.

Gritty, tough to load

Ordered 2 with no slot for an ‘81 Glenfield model 70. Received them today. I was surprised to find they were not in a package as they say Marlin Factory magazines. Just 2 loose mags in bubble wrap. The black finish is hazy, not like other black metal mags I’ve bought. Loading is fine for the first 3 rounds, then it gets more difficult and feels gritty. Will still need get to the range this weekend to try them out.
