This is a US-made, factory-pattern 7-round .22 LR magazine built to the original Marlin 71903 pattern for the 780/25/20/80 bolt-action family, finished in black oxide. It's manufactured in the USA from US steel and US components to match your rifle's original feed geometry.
Fits these rifles
This magazine fits the following Marlin .22 LR bolt-action models, plus rebadged rifles Marlin built for other retailers:
- Marlin 20, 25, 80, 780, 781, 80C, 80DL, 80E
- Rebadges: Glenfield 20, 25, and 80, JC Higgins 42 and 42DL, Foremost 20, Revelation 105
Not sure which one you have? Confirm the model number stamped on the left side of the barrel before you order, or use the Marlin Magazine Fitment Guide.
This is a .22 LR magazine. It will not fit a Marlin rifle chambered in .22 WMR or .17 HMR, and a .22 WMR/.17 HMR magazine will not fit here. The two magazine families are not interchangeable.
Every part of this magazine — body, follower, spring, and floor plate — is made to the original Marlin dimensions, so it drops into the magazine well and feeds the way the factory magazine did. Black oxide is a thin conversion coating fused to the steel rather than a paint or plating layer, so it won't chip or flake with normal use, and it matches a blued barrel. Feed geometry and spring tension are what decide whether a round chambers cleanly, which is why we build to the original pattern instead of a generic universal design.

Choosing the right one
This is the standard 7-round capacity for the 780/25/20/80 family. If you want more rounds between reloads on the same action, ARM also makes extended-capacity versions in 10-round and 15-round black oxide, both built for the same 80/780/20/25 fitment.
Magazine capacity limits vary by state, and the 15-round version can't ship to every state. Before you order, check your state's magazine capacity laws.
Frequently asked questions
How many rounds does this magazine hold?
This magazine holds 7 rounds of .22 LR.
Which rifles does this magazine fit?
It fits the Marlin 20, 25, 80, 780, and 781 bolt-actions (including the 80C, 80DL, and 80E), plus the rebadged Glenfield 20/25/80, JC Higgins 42/42DL, Foremost 20, and Revelation 105. Confirm your model number on the left side of the barrel before ordering.
Is this the same magazine as the 71900?
No. The 71903 fits the older 20, 25, 80, 780, and 781 bolt-actions. The 71900/71901 fits the 70-series semi-autos and later bolt guns like the 795, 880, and 925. They are not interchangeable — confirm your model number before ordering.
Can I get more than 7 rounds for this rifle?
Yes. ARM makes a 10-round and a 15-round version of this same magazine for the 80/780/20/25 family.
Is a higher-capacity magazine legal in my state?
Magazine capacity laws vary by state. Check your state's rules before ordering, especially for the 15-round version, which can't ship to every state.
How do I keep this magazine feeding reliably?
Wipe the exterior down with a dry cloth after range use, check for dirt or powder residue in the feed lips, and avoid over-lubricating — a light coat is enough, since too much oil attracts grit. Inspect the feed lips and follower for bends or damage before you load it, and store it with the spring at rest rather than fully compressed for long periods.
Is this a genuine factory-pattern magazine?
Yes. It's manufactured in the USA to the original Marlin factory pattern from US steel and US components, not an imported copy.
Do you sell to dealers or in bulk?
Yes. See our wholesale purchasing page for terms.
